REALIST PICK UPS
Developed by bass guru David Gage and designer Ned Steinberger, the Realist pick ups have become the choice of many top pros. Below are the family of Realist pick ups with a brief description. Caution! There are fakes out there.
We offer the BEST prices on Realist products and will promptly ship orders free of charge in the U.S. Please contact us for current pricing. (International customers send country and postal code for shipping quote.)
The original Realist. A reliable, transparent piezo pickup for upright bass. Installs under bass side bridge foot in a few minutes, no preamp required. 1/4” jack is held in place by collar threaded between G string ball and back of tailpiece. Also available in WoodTone, if you prefer the look of wood. Also available for cello, viola, violin, mandolin and banjo.
The LifeLine for upright bass is the newest member of the Realist pickup family. Like its predecessors, the LifeLine is based on a concept of self-powered transparent pickups that are easy to use. It offers a focused bass sound for those musicians who are looking for a lot of punch and/or volume without boomy-ness or loss of fidelity. Mounts easily on bass side hight adjuster. Realist Docking Station
This universal volume knob for upright bass lets you adjust volume on-the-fly, no matter which pickup is installed. The Docking Station installs to the tailpiece without fasteners and lets you bypass resistance altogether.
The Realist SoundClip clamps easily onto the bridge of any upright bass or cello, without marking or damaging. Clamping allows it to be added to or removed from any bass, at any time, without hassle. It's great for traveling bassists or those who want a pickup only when using an amp. The on-board volume knob gives the player full control to adjust output on the spot, and a variable weight system helps contour tone.
